Thai massage is a traditional form of bodywork that originated in Thailand and is rooted in ancient healing practices influenced by Indian Ayurvedic medicine, yoga, and Buddhism. Unlike typical Western massage, Thai massage is performed fully clothed on a mat on the floor, and it involves a combination of gentle rocking, stretching, and acupressure techniques. Thai Massage is full body, deeply satisfying experience that releases stress, relieves pain, energizes, and enlivens you. Aromatic, warm herbal compresses are used for added relaxation. 90 or 120 minutes is recommended for the best experience with this treatment.
Abhyanga literally means "Oil Massage", but is also translated as "touched by loving hands". A generous amount of warm sesame or coconut oil is applied for a nourishing experience which calms the nerves, balances hormones, reduces joint and muscle aches, aids sleep, enhances the complexion and the luster of the skin, eliminates impurities, increases circulation and nourishes the 7 layers of tissues in the body. 60 minutes is recommended for this session.
Pregnancy is a time of tremendous physical and emotional change, placing significant stress on a woman's body. Prenatal massage uses techniques and safe positioning specifically developed for expectant mothers and helps to alleviate the pain and discomfort commonly experienced during pregnancy. By inducing a deep state of relaxation, prenatal massage benefits both the mother and the baby and promotes emotional well-being. Studies indicate that stress hormones in a mother's system can be transferred through the placenta to the baby. Babies born to mothers who are stressed or depressed often show similar levels of stress hormones and indicators of depression. This underscores the importance of "Mothering the Mother" both before and after birth, highlighting why massage during pregnancy and the postpartum period can be incredibly beneficial. Other benefits include relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation for childbirth, and emotional support for the expecting Mother.

The first few months after birth, often referred to as the "fourth trimester," is when the body is working hard to heal, rest, and adapt to the new demands of motherhood. Postpartum massage offers relief and healing by addressing the unique challenges of this transitional time, such as muscle soreness from childbirth, the strain of daily caregiving, and the emotional weight of adjusting to a new life with a baby. I specialize in techniques to alleviate muscle tension and soreness specific to the postpartum window, and well as cesarean scar massage to designed to promote healing, improve mobility, and minimize discomfort after a cesarean section. Whether you're recovering from a vaginal birth or cesarean section, postpartum massage offers essential support in the healing process and provides a peaceful, restorative experience to help mothers feel their best, both physically and emotionally.
Ayurvedic massage (also known as Abyhanga) after childbirth can greatly reduce or eliminate difficulties with lactation, colic, depression, weight, energy, hormones and more. Warm oil applied helps the mother to feel more whole, relaxed, strong, balanced and vital. More than just pampering, Abyhanga during the postpartum period is essential for a mother’s physical and emotional recovery. This practice, rooted in Indian Ayurvedic healthcare, helps support purification and rejuvenation following pregnancy and birth, and also aids in the transition to the new role and responsibilities of motherhood.
